  1. The most harmful weed which grows on my farm is the dock. it spreads out rapidly on the ground and takes all the substance in the round away with it. the nettle and the dock grow mostly around houses.
    The holly thistle grows on rocky land and the common thistle grows on bad land. There is a cure in the nettles for measles. the scowcawns are used for turkeys and pigs. The dandelion is used for kidney and liver disease.
    During the time of the famine the poor people made tobacco from a mixture of dandelion and other weeds called "poor man's plug". There is also a very valuable substance in the dandelion for curing jaundice.
