  1. The groom would steal the bride to his friend's house.
    A bottle - drink and dance would take place. During the dance a few men would come in and take the couple home to the bride's house.
    The match was made.
    Next day bride and groom and witnesses went to buy Bridal outfit.
    The bride always wore a white veil to denote the modesty of the Irish girl.
    After the couple were married a great feast was arranged.
    The feast was made-up of 'bonachds' of oat-bread, butter and plenty of poteen.
    The next step was the 'Dragging Home' The groom's man and another brought the bride to her new home on a certain day.
    If the people were rich the custom was to go on horse-back, each man having a girl behind him.
