  1. Various feasts occur during the year, the most important Halloween, Christmas, Easter and St Patrick's Day. On Halloween the children enjoy themselves by playing a game known as snap-apple.
    An apple is put into a tub of water and the tub is placed in the middle of the floor. Then the children's hands are tied behind their backs, and each one in his turn tries to catch the apple with his mouth.
