  1. The houses which were in this district in former times were small thatched houses made of mud walls. The thatch used was reed an rushes which were got from the land. When the thatching was finished by the thatcher, it used be lovely to look at from the "sceimeal" which took the "braun snuas" from the walls, to the ridging on top of the walls.
