  1. By observing birds and their habits we can judge the weather. The wild goose is the sign of good weather if she flies to the North but if she flies to the south it is the sign of bad weather. If the swallows fly high it is the sign of good weather but if they fly low it is the sign of bad weather. If the Curlew flies to the east it is the sign of bad weather.
