  1. The name of the townland I live in Shanacluan. It is in the parish of Tuogh and in the Barony of Dunkerron North
There are 17 houses in my townland now but there were 32 houses there long ago. All the houses in this townland are slated but there are 2 ironed houses and there are only two thatched ones.
Shanacluan got its name because Shanacluan Shanara and Shanavalla were all one farm long ago and the portion of it that is called Shanacluan was used for feeding cattle. There are five people over 70 years in Shanacluan
    John Cahill 82 years
    Shanacluan,
    Beaufort,
    Co Kerry
    Joan Cahill
    Daniel Cahill 72 years
    Denis Sullivan 73 years
    Phil Sullivan
Daniel Cahill and Daniel Cahill are the only people that can tell stories in English
