  1. There are several old roads in this parish. There is a road leading from the public road that is leading along Shanacloon to KIlgobnet. It is called the "Kilgobnet road". It goes through KIlgobnet and leads out on the Cooleanig road.
There is a road leading from the Shanacloon road through Shanacloon and on to the Board of work. There are two boithiríns leading from that road which is called the Keel road and it also comes out on a different part of the Board of work. It is called the "River road" because there is a river on the side of the road.
During the bad times men worked on the roads and they used to get sixpence a day. The women and children also worked on the road drawing and picking stones.
