   Fear léigheannta dob'eadh Tomás abhí ag muineadh scoile amuigh i bhFaill Mhóir. Bhí an fhilíocht aige ó dúthchais. Chum sé an-chuid inGaedhilg agus inBeurla. Cé go raibh an Gaedhilg ar fheabhas aige níor fhéad sé í scríobhadh agus b'éigin do dá bhrigh sin, duine éigint go raibh scríobhadh na Gaedhilge aige d'fhágailt cun an fhilíocht do scríobhadh síos dó. Seo thíos ceann des na h-amhraín a chum sé imBeurla:-

   
   The Filemore Hounds

   Ye lads and lasses gay, and ye with sporting faces
   If ye live until next year, ye will not forget the races
   Such races we will have, though not with whip or saddle
   And none of you will say its all a fiddle-faddle

   Chorus

   Filemore is the place, for merry sports and singing
   Chief among them all, is our charming beagle hunting.

   Gentle men will be there, to wield their swords and snipers
