- Besides the usual times for making the Sign of the Cross, it is made on such occasions as follows-
1. If, going to, or in the fair very early in the day a man is offered a poor price for his animal. The sign is made on both man and beast.
2. After milking it is made on the side of the cow with the thumb after dipping t in fresh milk.
3. When getting into a motor car.
4. When beginning a difficult task.
5. At the start of the spring ploughing.
