    Long ago there used be great tug-a-war contests.

    There was a certain farmer named Thomas Cloney and there was a roller in his haggard, it was about a foot and a half in length and almost the same in dept. It was about twenty seven stone weight and it would take a very good man to lift it off the ground. Every threshing day there would be great sport in the haggard for everyone would be trying to lift the stone. Some people wouldn't be able to lift it at all and others would just be able to put the light under it, but some men would be able to stand up straight with it. That stone was in the haggard for years and the old people would tell you about the days when they
