When Cromwell came to the Co. Wexford...

When Cromwell came to the Co. Wexford he wasn’t long in it when he went to Garrenstackle which is not very far from Galbally. This place Garrenstackle can be seen from all [lands?], and that is the reason why Cromwell selected it for his camping ground. When Cromwell came there first he had a whole lot of old homes [?]. When he arrived in [Garrenstackle], he let out the horses, and they were all so tired and jaded that they all lay down in the field and some of them staggered around the field. This field then got the name of Garren Stagger. But – of course the name changed at the present day it bears the name of Garrenstackle.
