    Of all the deeds of lasting fame

    The Heapstown demonstration

    Thousands there that day did come
    To hear the sound of fife and drum
    And celebrate wit music hum
    That sweet demonstration
    III
    That evening just at stroke of two
    All bands and banners that were due
    Will Irishmen both staunch and true
    By the far famed cairn gathered
    IV
    From Ballymote and Sligo Town
    And Ballyrush of far renown
    To plead their cause and win their own
    Those gaels had hoped for like their fahters.
