  2. A story is told of a man with a car who was going through Newtownhamilton. He was warmed by the police in the town that there were dangerous snow drifts ahead of him. He took no heed to them. Sometime later he was seen coming into the town. Luck was with him for he was able to follow his tracks back to the town. Next day he was found raking in the snow drifts for his car.
