The foreman in Mr. Walter Wilson's hardware store is a very swift runner. He helps to train the association football team. Part of their training consists of running from one set of goalposts to the other and back. The team were all started even. Thomas McClelland was back before the rest of the team was half way up.

- In the Townland of Drumacon there resided a man named James McMahon. He was labourer and was known to be one of the finest mowers in the locality. His average mowing for the day was five acres. This was before mowing machines were invented.
