  2. A Great Thunderstorm

    A very long time ago, very many years before I was born, I have heard that there were very many great thunder storms. An old gentleman, now dead, who used to live in Ballybay remembers the great thunderstorm of 1839, which he used to say shook the earth like an earthquake It uprooted trees and when the thunder ceased torrential rains swept the earth, and brought havoc and destruction.
