  1. About sixty years ago there was a ghost in Bishop's Hall which is near Tory Hill. People called it "Bushy Tail because it resembled a big dog with a long tail. It was first seen by young boys. They did not take any notice of it thinking that it was Rockett's dog. One night my grand-uncle and Jim Moore were coming home after a day's hunting and they saw this dog. My grand-uncle ran at it but he was met by two big eyes of fire. He was knocked down with the glare. The ghost went on in front of them. As they were nearing Danial Watters' they said he would turn towards the main road but the ghost turned round and gave a piercing look and went on in front of the two men. They went along until they came to a gate which is in an exact line with the old chapel in Bishop's Hall. When the ghost came to this gate it opened of its own accord and the ghost went into the field and the gate closed after him. The
