“A small egg that a hen lays is lucky to put in a cowhouse.”
A small egg that a hen lays is lucky to put in a cowhouse. This egg is called a fourpenny oll and is about as big as a crow's egg.
People sing and jig when they are milking the cows and when they do so, the cows give more milk. It is said that if anybody comes in while you are milking a cow and if they do not say "God Bless the Work" the cow will not give the milk.- Informant
