    Marriages used to take place long ago on Shrove Tuesday.
    May is an unlucky month to get married. Matches are made in this district.
    Money is given as dowry and stock used be given long ago. People used to get married in the wife's house about eighty years ago.
    Long ago they used have a feast in their wives' houses they used to be dancing all night.
    Straw boys used come and they would be dancing eating and driking.
