- (continued from previous page)and the wool was washed. During the Summer the women made the clothes for themselves and their families for the winter. There was a spinning wheel in every house and the women were able to work it. There were weaving mills in Drimoleague but are now no longer used. The wool was carded with hand carder's and then spun in a hand spinning wheel. Then it was taken to the weaver who weaved it into cloth in a hand loom. It was then to a tucking mill and pressed between beater's to make it thick. It was then bleached, afterwards dyed and ready to be made into clothes.
