    Name = Dreenlomane.
    Parish = Schull.
    Barony = Carbery West.
    There are twenty-four families in the town-land of Dreenlomane and there are ninety people.
    The family name most common is Mahony and Mac Carthy.
    All the houses are now slate-roofed except two, which are very old and are thatched.
    Dreenlomane derives its name from the fact that it was covered with trees long ago, and the old folk say that the meaning of the word Dreenlomane is the "wood of the bare place"
