The weavers made the flannel into bandles. A bandle = 1 1/2 feet
Flannel pressed and dyed was called "flannen", also "Pilate". It was worn only by well-off Folk."One man is as good as nine tailors"

Shirts were made of flax - Bandle cloth shirts they were called. Every man had one shirt with a linen front for Sunday. They wore no underwear. The Breens of Screathan a gulain were famous for their beautiful Shirts.
