  2. About fifty years ago James Cashen lived where Maloneys live now on the Corville road, and next he lived where Hendricks of Benamore live and from that he went to Dublin. He was opf medium height and had only one arm. He used to take letters from Roscrea to Ballaghmore, and afterwards he used to teach in Knock. It was a day school. The pupils took turf every day and they wrote on slates.
    James Cashen died in Dublin. There was a son of his in Roscrea on July 4th. He came from Dublin.
