  1. The local fairs are held in Athboy, Trim, Ballivor and Kildalkey. Fairs are usually held in towns and villages.
    When an animal is sold there is luck money given, and it is called "luck penny".
    When a bargain is made the two parties show there agreement by striking each others hands. When an animal is sold it is marked with a red, or blue, or green or yellow mark
    When an animal is sold the halter is retained.
    There are no special fairs held for the sale of sheep or bomams or horses in this locality.
    Toll is not paid on cattle sold
