    Ó éist linn a cáirde,
    Is brónach mo sgéal
    And I'll tell you of two hearty sons
    of the Gael
    Who loved poor old Ireland from their
    very heart's core,
    But they loved something else up in
    wild Curraghmore.

    One cold winter's evening as the darkness came down
    With a mighty black cloud,
    over forest and town.
    Those two crossed the bog as they
    oft did before
    To see the fair caileens of Wild Curraghmore
    III
    Says one to the other it is a
    very dark night.
    It's a mighty good job that we
    both brought our lights
    For those sharp broken stones we
    would never get o'er
