- I know an old bye-road in my district. It is called Cranary lane. It is about half a mile long. It goes from the Ballinroey road to the Cartronmarkey road. At one end of it there are three townlands beside it, namely Cranary, Ballinroey, and Tubber, and at the other end of it Cranary and Cartronmarkey. It is a very old lane. There is a lot of traffic on it sometimes when there is road-work around, because there is a quarry on it.
There is a "Mass-path" through John Kiernan's fields in Ballinroey to Purth church. It takes off a good distance of the road. Some people cross it going to the shop, and children cross it going to school also.- Collector
