- In almost every part of Ireland certain things are kept in houses in honour of a saint.
Some of the things kept are holly at Christmas and palm on Palm Sunday. These are hung in all the houses. A lot of people say that if you put blessed palm on your cheek when you have a toothache it will cure it.
I know of a house where there is a cross of St. Patrick. It is made of wood and beautifully ornamented.
There was a man living in Mullinalaghta and he used to make lovely crosses of wood.- Collector
