  1. There was a very old family in Ballinaslaney named Whittys. On a part of their land the Well Chapel and Graveyard of St David were Situated. Very few people knew anything about where it was. The land that St David's well was on, fell into the hands of Protestants who had it closed. In 1908 a Great Grandson of this Protestant man was owner of the lands and was noted for his kindness, and no greater proof of his kindness is wanted than his action in reopening St David's Well.
