- Thomas Coyle Lurgan was one of the best weavers. He made a lot of money on it.
He was able to weave table cloths towels blankets and serges. He could bring out a hare and a dog after her on a table cloth and a goose hatching on it. Table cloths he wove can be seen to this day. Serge was the hardest to weave. He would glue it in a pot and bring it out and stretch it on chairs. He would walk up and down with a reed to keep it from sticking. He would weave it then. The light he had was candles. He lived till 1867.- Collector
