  1. My father often told how when he himself was a small boy, he was brought by his father to the wake of a distant who had lived five or six miles away.
    As they approached the "berrel" they saw sitting in a heap of stones by the road a very small withered old woman with long grey hair hanging around her face who cried and sobbed as if her heart was breaking.
    The old man told the boy not to look at her or speak and they continued on their way.
    On reaching the house, all could hear the mournful cries and all know it be the bean-sí.
