  1. After a Fair in Mullagh, two farmers of Mullagh Laoghil were returning home and as it was not yet dark and the evening was fine they went into a field near the old rath and lay down in the grass to talk and to finish the contents of a half pint bottle carried by one of them.
As they chatted after their refreshment, suddenly a hand reached towards the almost empty bottle while the two men thought they a shadowy figure close by.
Both spoke together asking "Who is that?" but no answer came and no one was in sight as they jumped to their feet.
Soon they separated and hurreid towards their homes thinking of Shakespeare's lines,
"There are things in heaven and on earth
"Not dreamt of in our philosophy"
