- There are three tailors in Kingscourt. They work in their own homes and do not now travel. The tailors here do not keep the material, but make suits from the material given them. There is no cloth around here. But in Navan, Athlone, and other places there are mills for spinning cloth. Tailors use a large machine, for sewing, which is stronger than an ordinary machine. There are no spinning wheels around this country now.
Shirts are sometimes made at home but people mostly buy them in the shops ready-made.- Collector
