The market is on Tues. and there are fairs on April 1. May 23, June 18, Aug 1, Sept. 19, Nov. 8, Dec. 4 and 24. A chief constabulary force is stationed here and petty Sessions are held on alternate Tuesdays. The parish church is situated in the town, in which are also a handsome R.C. chapel and a dispensary. In the neighbourhood are several planted raths, one of which commands a very extensive, magnificent prospect.
