    1)About 130 years ago a "lighter"conveying brick to Limerick a brickyard close to Cratloe Castle was lost with all hands -about 3. Nobody about to render help.
    11)Paddy Hickey of Coonagh was drowned about 50 years ago.He and Michl.Enright salvaged in Shannon a beam of timber belonging to Spaights and Co.of Limk.Brought it in and received 10/ as reward..When returning boat was capsized .Enright struggled in boat but could give no account of accident.
    111) 38 years ago Jas.Purcell of Mellick was drowned in Shannon near Sarsfield bridge .He walked down Bedford Row and straight into Shannon ,thinking he was continuing over bridge.
