- from towards Bodyke. Paddy the Basket. A pedlar, always carried a basket. Sold books such as Story of Ireland, The Bodyke Evictions, the Wild Rose of Lough Gill &c.
Was a great walker. Did not visit Meelick later than about 58 yrs. ago, but don't know whether he died there or not. Used to put up for the night.
- Paddy Meehan from Limerick city went by the name of Toby Fleven. A peddlar in a small way. Sold books (2d or so), laces, pins & needles &c. Carried them in a two-handled box. He'd run a stick out thro(continues on next page)
