At one time the Late Mr. Delmege, of Castlepark, Limerick had shooting parties on Meelick Mt.
The locals at all times took out licences (at that time 10/-) These did not allow shooting of game, but were availed of for that purpose - they acted as a cover. The game which they shot was sold in Limerick.
Well-known poachers were Jas Donagher, of Derramore,(continues on next page)
