By what you can hear ,the bad times were much the same here as in other places.The place then was much more thinly populated.The whole face of the mountain was covered with houses,there was a regular village at the Bleach,there were a lot of houses in a field close to Goggin's house ,there were houses close to the Bog Road ,as well as at the foot of Mooneen. There were a few houses close to Punchbowl Cross.There were up to 40 families on the face of Meelick Mt.evicted on one day.
    The blight attacked the potatoes when they were growing and they never reached any
