- The fairs are held in Listowel. The cattle fairs are held in the Square and the pig fairs are held in the market. They are held once a fortnight. When you sell the cattle you must pay toll on them. The people give the jobber luck penny when they are getting paid. The cattle are marked with coloured chalk. There are three big fairs in the year: May fair, July fair and the October fair.
