- The people long ago ate twenty meals a week that is three meals a day. This was potatoes. They ate them three times a day. The servant boys that worked in the farmers' houses would have to get up at six o'clock in the morning and go out working until eight o'clock. They ate potatoes and sour milk three times a day.
When people were eating most of them had no tables. They would put a "Sciath" on the middle of the floor. The forks they had were their hands.
