“There was once a man and he was in league with the fairies.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)He said that he couldn't go that day or yesterday as the machine was broken and he told him that he would go the next day. So this man went home contented with himself. The next day came but there was no sign of the man turning up with the machine. So this man went to him again and asked him was he fooling him, for he told him that he could get somebody else. "Well" says he "dead or alive "I will cut it for you tomorrow". So the man was fairly certain then that he would turn up and he went home. The next day came but no man turned up to cut the corn. The man couldn't believe his eyes and he didn't know what to say. At noon that day he was very much surprised to hear that when the man was coming to his field to cut the corn, he met with an accident and got killed, and was at home(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
