One day the old woman was up in the bedroom and didn't she happen on one of the letters from her husbands girl in England! She understood then the whole affair and she vowed to her that one penny of her money or one inch of her farm of land would he ever get. She lived for two years more and then it was plain to be seen that her end was near. So she sent for the solicitor to come and settle her accounts.
