has a red breast. The Blackbird is said to have gone in search of wealth and because it picked amongst the gold with its bill its beak has continued to be a yellow colour.
A story is told that fire struck the wren and burned some of her feathers. She returned and asked the other birds to give her some. They asked the Cuckoo who replied that she needed them for herself for the winter. It is said that the small birds pursued the Cuckoo ever since to get clothing. It is also said that birds know their own calls and tell one and other where food is to be got.
