There was once an old man by the name of Daniel the pedlar. He had such a mind for tea that some people called him "Daniel the tay".
He visited house from house, and in every house he made tea for himself.
When he stayed in a house at night, he slept near the fire on sacks of straw or hay. He was very fond of "card playing" and the boys had great fun playing tricks on him, pretending to steal his tea and sugar out of the old sack which he kept them in.
