Dunboy Castle
“Dunboy Castle was owned by the Puxley's + it used to be a great place for playing cards.”
Dunboy Castle was owned by the Puxley's & it used to be a great place for playing cards. One night a certain man did not come there atall and they were waiting for him for a long time. At last they started playing without him and in the middle of the game the devil appeared in the form of the man that was absent. As he was playing a card fell on the ground and he put his leg down on it. Another man took it up and he saw the print of a hoof in it. The the devil burst into a ball of fire. It was in the time of the penal days and any priest that would be caught would be killed. They immediately sent for the priest but he refused to come for three times in succession he refused but at last he came. When he had the prayer finished the devil immediately dissappeared out the window. Then Puxley turned at the priest to kill him. The Priest was in such terror that he jumped out the window and escaped.- Bailitheoir
