- Corrigan's Fort.
Corrigan's fort is situated in our field in Gortumloe. It is one of the largest in my District. It consists of a half-acre. It is said that there is a passage from this fort to Carney's fort but it is impossible to find it.
There is a piece of land in the middle of Corrigan's fort with a big ring round it. There are a few bushes growing on the edge of it. There is one entrance into it. One day Ned Kenny was digging by the edge of the fort. He dug up remains of a man riding a horse. He buried them again. the Fir Bolgs are supposed to have built it.
