How old fields got their names.
Above in Slieveanoir bog there is a lake called Denny's lake .Long ago an old man named Denny O Dwyer lived there ,and the old stones are there still and his farm is there also.
it is said he used go swimming there every summer mornings .When his wife died he came down to Con Tully and lived there,so when he died he got all he had .
it is supposed that this lake is enchanted ,because Pat Vaughan's father went draining it years ago an old woman appeared to him and said "leave as much as will wash my white cap".So from that day to this it is avoided at night.- Bailitheoir
