  1. A long time ago there lived an order of friars known as the Dominicans in Orlaur Abbey Kilkelly Co. Mayo. They were living in it a good while it happened that on a certain day a new friar came to them. They did not know him and they suspected him. They knew he was not a right friar. One day he and the Abbot had a falling out and the new friar went somewhere. The day after he went, when one of the friars was reading Mass a sow and litter of bonhams went down the passage of the church. When the friar had finished reading Mass he read his book and kept on reading until he read to the effect
