- There are the ruins of an old Monastry belonging to the Dominickins in Urlaur Kilkelly Mayo. It is said that when Cromell was in Eire he and his men fired at the Monastry with a cannon gun from Thomas Forry's house in Huntsfield on the Ballyhaunis road. The Monastry was situated on a slope beside the Urlaur lake. There is an old cemetry in the yard of the Monastry. There are marble Tomb stones on some of the graves dating back to 1696.
