  1. Long ago there was an old beggar woman passing by a church in a country place. She went into the church to pray, when she was a while praying she went to sleep. When she woke she heard the clock strike twelve, and she wondered where she was. She used to smoke a pipe, she began to search for her pipe and matches. She found the pipe easily, but she could not find the matches. At once she heard the clock strike twelve. The sacristy door opened, and a priest walked to the altar, lit two candles, and opened the Mass book. Then he turned round and asked was there anyone to serve Mass. The
