    went back to the West to his native land called Portery After he went the well got its name "Tobar" Portery. One party of the neighbours got jealous of the other party over going a near way to the well.
    Some of them threw dirt into the well. Next day when they came for water the well had disappeared and sprung up about a quarter of a mile further on down the cliff, near an old bog where it is still to be seen. The people never dirtied the well after that.
