  1. In "Corindromaun," a few miles from Tallow there was a Land League Meeting, about sixty years ago. The Lord Lieutenant of Ireland a that time, was Earl Spencer, and he was very hard on the people.
    The people decided to make an effigy and bury it. All the people of the place gathered, each riding a donkey dressed in green ribbons. They danced and sang after burying the effigy. They wrote on the tomb;
    "Beneath this tomb,
    Are laid in Knckanore,
    Coercion relics, doomed
    To rise no more."
